Marvin Sapp Closing In On Grammy Weekend With 11th Nomination

GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter and Pastor Marvin Sapp is on par to having a big weekend. The 60th Annual Grammy Awards, held in New York City will see some of the best in Music in town, including Gospel Super star Marvin Sapp. Nomiated for his His 11th studio album, Close, Sapp may win big. Close debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Gospel Albums chart, making it his fifth consecutive album to top that chart. Sapp has also garnered a record 11 Grammy nominations during his musical career.

Sapp’s previous albums You Shall Live (2015), I Win (2012), Here I Am, and Thirsty (2007) — each of which, with the exception of You Shall Live, received a GRAMMY nomination. The “preacher who happens to sing” released “Close” on September 29th, 2017 on Verity Records.

The Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center says of “Close”: “This music, these songs, are birthed out of my life and testimony. They are my lifeline to God. That God would use me to help provide a lifeline to so many others is remarkable.”

The album features collaborations with other Grammy winners Rodney Jerkins “You and Me Together” featuting Erica Campbell and Izze Williams), Kirk Franklin(“Kind God”) and singer-songwriter Aaron Lindsey.
